Deck overview

This is a blue-red spellslinger/storm deck helmed by Ashling, Rekindled // Ashling, Rimebound, a transforming commander that flips between a looter (discard a card, draw a card) and a mana engine that produces two mana each turn for spells with mana value 4 or greater. The primary plan is to cast a critical mass of instants and sorceries, amplified by storm effects like Thousand-Year Storm, Prismari, the Inspiration, and Ral, Crackling Wit's emblem, then finish with Grapeshot, Brain Freeze, or a dragon swarm from Elemental Eruption and Rite of the Dragoncaller. Secondary wins include Niv-Mizzet, Parun's draw-damage engine and chained extra turns via Nexus of Fate and Temporal Manipulation. The commander's mana production accelerates the deck's expensive spells, while a deep draw suite keeps the gas flowing.
