Deck overview

The Serpent Society commands a Golgari midrange attrition deck that turns cheap deathtouch creatures into devastating removal and board control. By flooding the battlefield with low-cost deathtouchers like Tajuru Blightblade and Moss Viper, the deck creates impenetrable defensive lines that discourage opposing attacks. Once The Serpent Society enters the battlefield, any combat trade, sacrifice effect, or fight spell triggers its ability, forcing every opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature. This turns 1-mana creatures into lopsided four-for-one trades that dismantle opposing boards. The deck leverages deathtouch synergies with fight and bite spells like Infectious Bite and Cosmic Hunger, alongside the lethal ping engine of Viridian Longbow. Massive creature recursion packages such as Dread Return and Call of the Death-Dweller ensure continuous engine uptime. The deck finishes games through combat damage from buffed attackers, Hornet Queen swarms, and life drain via Arnyn, Deathbloom Botanist.
