Deck overview

This mono-black deck is led by Ghoulcaller Gisa, focusing on Zombie tribal synergies and an aristocrats subtheme. The primary strategy involves ramping into efficient high-power creatures, casting Gisa, and sacrificing those bodies to create overwhelming hordes of 2/2 Zombie tokens. The deck amplifies this swarm through classic tribal lords like Undead Warchief and Death Baron, while draining life totals with aristocrats staples including Ayara, First of Locthwain, Plague Belcher, and Vengeful Dead. Asymmetric creature control from Grave Pact and Noxious Ghoul suppresses enemy boards, turning token generation into one-sided board wipes. While the list excels at board rebuilding through deep reanimation suites, it remains vulnerable to targeted removal and lacks stack interaction or protection against artifact- and enchantment-based threats.
