Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and token aggro deck commanded by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The primary strategy centers on leveraging cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer and Stormcatch Mentor alongside alternative-cost spells like Volcanic Salvo, Furygale Flocking, and Dig Through Time. Casting these high-mana-value spells in the pre-combat main phase triggers Rootha to create massive flying, hasty Elemental creature tokens. The deck then amplifies these threats with token doublers and copy engines such as Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Rionya, Fire Dancer, Determined Iteration, and Redoubled Stormsinger. It features dense low-cost ramp and solid card flow through Archmage Emeritus and Curiosity Crafter. While the deck produces explosive aerial damage by turn 5 and can close games by turn 7, its primary vulnerabilities are vulnerability to board sweepers and a near-total absence of protective countermagic to shield its board state.
