Deck overview

This Azorius midrange deck pairs The Fifth Doctor and Clara Oswald to build massive board advantage through end-step +1/+1 counters and vigilance untaps. Early turns focus on establishing asymmetric board taxes using Authority of the Consuls, Spider-Woman, Stunning Savior, and Thalia, Heretic Cathar, which force opposing creatures and nonbasic lands to enter tapped. Once The Fifth Doctor resolves on Turn 4, passive growth transforms small utility creatures like Lord Jyscal Guado and Kid Loki into substantial threats. The deck protects its board with hexproof enablers, counterspells, and Luminous Broodmoth while converting passive counters into card flow. By Turn 7, evasive beaters like Sunscorch Regent, Hraesvelgr of the First Brood, and unblockable attackers via Rikku, Resourceful Guardian close the game in consecutive combat steps over two response cycles.
