Deck overview

This Ghalta, Primal Hunger deck executes a classic Mono-Green Stompy game plan focused on mana acceleration, massive stat-efficient creatures, and overwhelming combat damage. By deploying early mana dorks like Elvish Mystic alongside undercosted high-power threats such as Steel Leaf Champion, Pugnacious Hammerskull, and Gigantosaurus, the deck rapidly accumulates twelve power on the battlefield. This allows Ghalta, Primal Hunger to enter as a 12/12 trampler for as little as two green mana as early as Turn 4. Once assembled, the deck leverages power-based card draw engines like Garruk's Uprising and Elemental Bond to maintain resources while closing the game through massive damage multipliers such as Overwhelming Stampede and Unnatural Growth. While the deck features strong resilience and standalone threats, its reliance on sorcery-speed creature boards leaves it vulnerable to well-timed sweepers and fog effects across its multi-turn combat clock.
