Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Izzet tempo and wheel deck commanded by Captain Howler, Sea Scourge. The game plan revolves around converting discard actions into lethal combat pressure, card replenishment, and table-wide burn. Early turns establish mana rocks and repeatable looters. By Turn 4, the commander enters the battlefield, turning every discarded card into a +2/+0 buff and drawing cards whenever buffed creatures deal combat damage. On Turn 5, casting mass-discard effects like Windfall or Tolarian Winds rapidly escalates Howler's power to lethal commander damage ranges while triggering group-slug damage from Glint-Horn Buccaneer, Brallin, Skyshark Rider, and Magmakin Artillerist. The deck can also execute an infinite damage loop by attacking with Glint-Horn Buccaneer alongside Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator. It operates with consistent Turn 4 assembly, a Turn 5 must-answer onset, and a reliable Turn 7 finish.
