Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Izzet spellslinger strategy commanded by Alania, Divergent Storm. It blends Otter tribal synergies with explosive spell-copying mechanics. The deck aims to ramp in the opening turns, deploy Alania on Turn 4 or 5, and leverage her ability to duplicate the first instant, sorcery, or Otter spell cast each turn. By chaining cheap utility spells, cantrips, and token makers like Molten Duplication and Heat Shimmer, the deck rapidly scales board presence and card velocity. Standalone powerhouses such as Bria, Riptide Rogue turn spell casts into massive unblockable prowess alpha strikes, while Stormsplitter creates an exponential army of hasty attackers. The deck also packs decisive finishers in Chandra's Ignition, Crackle with Power, and Insurrection, supported by potent artifact tutors and countermagic. While vulnerable to creature removal and giving opponents cards via Alania's gift trigger, the deck delivers compounding card advantage and high burst damage.
