Not The Birds! (WIP) by TallFry

Format: Commander

Commander: Rendmaw, Creaking Nest

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Golgari deck is built around Rendmaw, Creaking Nest's unique trigger: whenever you play a card with two or more card types, each player creates a goaded 2/2 Bird token. The deck leans heavily into cards that are multiple types simultaneously-artifact creatures, enchantment creatures, land creatures, and kindred cards-to consistently fire off the commander's ability. The goaded tokens create a chaotic board state where opponents are forced to attack each other, buying time while you develop your own value engine. The secondary plan uses graveyard recursion (Reanimate, Victimize, Whip of Erebos, Shigeki, Jukai Visionary) to reanimate big threats like Titania, Nature's Force and Massacre Wurm for incremental advantage. The deck has no infinite combos and wins through combat attrition, draining life via Blood Artist and token pressure over many turns.
