Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and attrition engine piloted by Braids, Arisen Nightmare. The primary game plan revolves around deploying inexpensive, self-recurring creatures or token generators on early turns, then casting Braids on Turn 3 to immediately trigger her end-step sacrifice ability. Because opponents rarely match niche permanent types early, Braids rapidly draws 2 to 3 extra cards per turn while whittling opposing life totals. The deck converts this immense card velocity into a compounding board state featuring sacrifice outlets like Warren Soultrader and Priest of Forgotten Gods, alongside redundant drain payoffs such as Blood Artist, Mirkwood Bats, and Vein Ripper. Turn 5 represents the critical onset where damage multipliers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz and heavy board control from Massacre Wurm or Butcher of Malakir pressure the table into a multi-turn lethal drain finish on Turn 7. While weak to exile sweepers and graveyard hate, the deck possesses exceptional resilience and recovery.
