Commander: Zask, Skittering Swarmlord

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari list is a landfall-insect graveyard engine built around Zask, Skittering Swarmlord. The primary plan is to fill the graveyard early, then use Zask to replay lands and recast Insect spells, triggering landfall repeatedly. The deck creates an overwhelming Insect army with Scute Swarm, Springheart Nantuko, and Rampaging Baloths, then wins through combat with Aatchik/Fumulus drains or by converting the army into mill with Altar of Dementia. A bounceland loop with Horizon/Icetill Explorer and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove provides an infinite landfall engine. Grist, Voracious Larva // Grist, the Plague Swarm functions as a hidden commander when it transforms from the graveyard. The deck is resilient to board wipes but weak to graveyard hate and stack-based combos.
