Deck overview

This is a mono-blue tempo/combo deck built around Hermes, Overseer of Elpis, who turns every noncreature spell into a flying Bird token and every Bird attack into card selection. The primary plan is to establish Hermes alongside cheap interaction, cantrips, and cost reducers, then bury opponents under evasive Birds while sculpting toward a compact Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal loop or a Hullbreaker Horror bounce lock. The deck also includes a self-mill alternative win via Laboratory Maniac/Jace and Leveler. Because spells and Birds feed each other, the commander accelerates both the combat clock and the artifact-combo assembly, and most game lines reduce to either overwhelming the board with fliers or chaining spells into an infinite-mana outlet.
