Deck overview

This mono-blue deck leverages O'aka, Traveling Merchant as a resource engine, turning counters on your permanents into consistent card draw. By combining cards that generate or hold counters—such as Chasm Skulker, Ominous Seas, Toothy, Imaginary Friend, and Sleep-Cursed Faerie—with untap specialists like Ioreth of the Healing House and Aphetto Alchemist, the deck sustains steady card velocity. As the game transitions into the midgame, it converts this advantage into formidable board states through Kraken tokens, massive evasive attackers via Baxter, Fly in the Ointment, or a 20/20 Marit Lage from Dark Depths. A focused countermagic package shields key permanents and interrupts opponent momentum while you close out the game through evasive combat.
