Deck overview

Rootha, Mastering the Moment is an Izzet spellslinger deck that turns instant and sorcery casts into a single large flying Elemental each combat, then multiplies that token into a lethal swarm. The primary plan is to resolve a high-mana-value instant or sorcery-usually Magma Opus or Furygale Flocking-before combat, then use Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer, Rionya, Fire Dancer, and Determined Iteration to convert all your incidental tokens into copies of the big Elemental. Rootha, Mercurial Artist is a hidden copy-commander in the 99 that doubles key spells. Secondary paths include cascade/free-cast value from Creative Technique and Plargg and Nassari, and combat-finishers like Surge to Victory. Interaction is removal-focused, with one counterspell.
