the Erm-Dragon

Format: Commander

Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Ur-Dragon heads a five-color Dragon battlecruiser that wins through combat, not infinite combos. Eminence reduces every other Dragon by one mana while its attack trigger draws cards equal to attacking Dragons and cheats a permanent from hand, turning a wide board into advantage and free deployment. Secondary paths use Sneak Attack, Kaalia of the Vast, Court of Bounty and Hellkite Courser to cheat big Dragons early, with treasure engines Old Gnawbone, Goldspan Dragon and Ganax, Astral Hunter funding the nine-mana commander. Thrakkus the Butcher, Atarka, World Render and Scourge of Valkas with Dragon Tempest serve as hidden finishers that double power, grant double strike or burn as Dragons enter.
