Format: Commander

Commander: Kambal, Consul of Allocation

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Kambal, Consul of Allocation pilots an Orzhov life-gain and drain engine. The deck taxes noncreature spells, gains life from every trigger, and punishes opponents with global drains such as Marauding Blight-Priest and Sanguine Bond. It grinds advantage until it can cast a large Debt to the Deathless or Exsanguinate. Secondary routes use evasive lifelinkers and planeswalker Kaya to close or remove key pieces. The commander accelerates the clock against spell decks, but the engine works without him. The deck is slow, resilient against creature-heavy tables, and capable of staxing spell-heavy tables with Painful Quandary and God-Pharaoh's Statue.
