Deck overview

This mono-black deck uses Sidisi, Regent of the Mire as a Birthing Pod in the command zone. Sidisi turns cheap utility creatures into larger reanimated threats directly from the graveyard. Early turns focus on filling the graveyard with self-mill creatures like Undead Butler and Paramecia Coloniex while setting up steady mana. Once the graveyard is stocked, Sidisi ladders through creature mana values to assemble a game-ending aristocrats engine. The primary win condition is an infinite life-drain loop using Warren Soultrader, Gravecrawler, and a drain piece such as Zulaport Cutthroat or Bontu's Monument. Alternatively, the deck can generate large bursts of mana with Cabal Coffers to drain the table with Gray Merchant of Asphodel or Exsanguinate. The deck excels at creature attrition and engine recovery, though it remains vulnerable to targeted graveyard exile and cannot easily interact with opposing noncreature permanents.
