Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius combo-control strategy disguised as a group-hug engine. Led by Kwain, Itinerant Meddler, the deck accelerates everyone's card velocity while breaking symmetry through powerful punishers and payoffs like Smothering Tithe, Consecrated Sphinx, and Ebony Owl Netsuke. The commander provides reliable early draw and political goodwill, but the deck's true path to victory lies in assembling potent infinite combos. Primary win conditions include Isochron Scepter imprinted with Dramatic Reversal to produce infinite mana and untaps, Mind Over Matter paired with tap-to-draw engines, and blink loops utilizing Felidar Guardian, a clone effect, and Altar of the Brood to mill out the entire table.
