Deck overview

This Grixis deck is helmed by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria, and focuses on weaponizing draw-and-discard mechanics to grind out opponents while generating severe table-wide burn. The strategy curves early mana acceleration into Doctor Doom on Turn 3 or 4, leveraging his combat connive trigger to filter cards, grow threats, and drain opponents whenever lands are discarded. On Turn 5, the deck transitions into high gear with explosive payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir, Brallin, Skyshark Rider, Bone Miser, and Tolarian Winds, which dismantle opposing boards and burn the table simultaneously. Backed by top-tier Grixis interaction including Fierce Guardianship, Deadly Rollick, Mana Drain, and Cyclonic Rift, the deck maintains firm control over decisive opposing threats. It closes games by Turn 7 through compounded burn damage, Wound Reflection, or an infinite cleanup discard loop between Curiosity and Glint-Horn Buccaneer.
