Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive, combat-oriented cascade snowball strategy commanded by Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder. The game plan focuses on ramping through early turns using dense mana accelerants like Birds of Paradise, Wild Growth, and Sol Ring to deploy Yidris by Turn 4. On Turn 5, Yidris attacks to connect with combat damage, taking advantage of innate trample or evasion pieces like Aqueous Form and Security Bypass. Successfully dealing combat damage grants cascade to all spells cast from hand during the second main phase, rapidly cheating additional threats, ramp, and card draw directly onto the battlefield. Critical onset arrives on Turn 6 as damage multipliers like Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar and Uncivil Unrest scale combat pressure while cascading into massive threats like Maelstrom Wanderer. Over two opponent response cycles, the deck overwhelms the table, closing on Turn 8. While it packs an infinite combat combo via Aggravated Assault and Bear Umbra, it primarily relies on combat-driven cascade velocity.
