Deck overview

Lord of the Nazgul is both the engine and the payoff of a Dimir spells-matter token deck. The plan is to treat every instant and sorcery as a 3/3 Wraith token, use type-setting effects such as Arcane Adaptation, Leyline of Transformation, Xenograft, and Maskwood Nexus to make the deck's other token producers count as Wraiths, and cross the nine-Wraith threshold to turn the entire army into 9/9s. Copy effects like Rite of Replication, Cackling Counterpart, and Council of Reeds can multiply the commander or the best token engines for a faster version of the same plan. Flashback and reanimation - Frantic Search, Dread Return, Revenge of the Rats, Welcome the Dead - give the deck a second wind after wipes. This is a fair midrange strategy: no infinite combo, modest search density, and a commander that needs to survive for the big payoff.
