Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger midrange deck commanded by Mizzix of the Izmagnus. The primary strategy focuses on casting instant and sorcery spells to accumulate experience counters, progressively discounting the generic mana costs of subsequent spells. During the opening turns, the deck utilizes low-cost cantrips and mana artifacts to develop mana and sculpt its hand. Once Mizzix enters the battlefield, the deck transitions into a high-velocity engine, chaining powerful draw spells like Fact or Fiction and Memory Deluge for minimal mana. Simultaneously, token generators such as Young Pyromancer, Murmuring Mystic, and Poppet Stitcher convert spell casts into an expansive board of creatures. The deck maintains control over the table using a deep suite of counterspells and mass bounce effects like Evacuation, before closing out the game through combat damage buffed by Poppet Factory or extra combat steps from Overpowering Attack.
