Format: Commander

Commander: Purphoros, God of the Forge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-red deck is built around Purphoros, God of the Forge as a relentless burn engine. The primary plan is to flood the battlefield with cheap creature tokens-Goblins, Elementals, Thopters-each of which triggers Purphoros's ability to deal 2 damage to each opponent. Additional ETB damage amplifiers like Impact Tremors, Terror of the Peaks, and Warstorm Surge accelerate the clock, while Torbran, Thane of Red Fell and City on Fire multiply the damage output. The deck also packs a small recursion package (Underworld Breach, Feldon of the Third Path) to reuse key pieces, and a handful of tutors (Gamble, Imperial Recruiter) to find critical enablers. Combat is a secondary path, with go-wide token swarms and Krenko, Mob Boss providing explosive turns. The commander is indestructible and often not a creature, making it resilient to most removal, but the deck's overall interaction suite is thin, leaving it vulnerable to fast combo and heavy disruption.
