Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari Snake kindred deck led by Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap Snake creatures and mana dorks in the early turns, establishing board presence, and casting synergistic payoffs. Ikra Shidiqi, the Usurper converts high-toughness combat connections into substantial life gain, while payoffs like Enduring Tenacity and Hooded Blightfang weaponize that life buffer into direct opponent life loss. In the mid-game, tribal anthems such as Seshiro the Anointed and card engines like Ohran Frostfang provide the combat power and card draw necessary to pressure opposing life totals. The deck lacks fast mana, tutors, or infinite combos, relying entirely on fair combat damage, deathtouch deterrence, and gradual attrition across multiple attack steps. While resilient against single-target threats through recursion tools like Coiling Rebirth and Skullwinder, the strategy remains vulnerable to board wipes and fast combo decks due to limited high-efficiency interaction.
