Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Golgari token swarm and combo deck commanded by Witherbloom, the Balancer. The strategy accelerates in the opening turns with efficient mana dorks and cheap token generators like Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, Basking Broodscale, and Awakening Zone. Once 4 to 5 creatures populate the board, the commander enters for as little as {B}{G} due to affinity, granting instant and sorcery spells full affinity for creatures. This massive cost reduction fuels explosive turns where game-ending spells like Natural Order, Shamanic Revelation, Finale of Devastation, or Ad Nauseam cost only their colored pips. The deck threatens a lethal table kill around Turn 4 or 5 through an overwhelming Craterhoof Behemoth overrun or an infinite sacrifice combo with Basking Broodscale and Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest. Broad creature tutors and persistent stax pieces like Grave Pact provide high redundancy and resilient board control.
