Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis combo-control list commanded by Saruman, the White Hand. The primary strategy accelerates mana in the early turns to cast Saruman, using noncreature spells to build a large Orc Army token protected by ward {2}. The deck's central win condition pairs The Reaver Cleaver with Time Sieve. Connecting with an equipped 5+ power creature creates 5 or more Treasure tokens each combat, allowing Time Sieve to sacrifice those Treasures for infinite consecutive turns. A dense suite of premium tutors—including Demonic Tutor, Fabricate, and Whir of Invention—ensures fast and consistent assembly by Turn 4. The deck defends its execution with format-defining free counterspells like Force of Will and Fierce Guardianship, while disruptive permanents like Opposition Agent and Rhystic Study slow down opposing game plans.
