Deck overview

This Gruul deck is led by Wolverine, Best There Is, a commander designed to deal double damage and grow larger whenever he damages another creature. The strategy leans heavily into fight and bite spells, turning Wolverine into efficient creature removal while simultaneously building his power. Once Wolverine grows, the deck uses massive damage multipliers like Xenagos, God of Revels, Embercleave, Berserk, and Unnatural Growth to execute rapid one-shot eliminations through commander damage. Spells like Chandra's Ignition and Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar convert Wolverine's single-target burst into full-table sweeps. While the deck possesses built-in regeneration and strong creature suppression, it relies on combat damage over multiple turn cycles and has limited stack interaction against noncreature combo strategies.
