Life gain bracket 3 experiment by Vassal115

Format: Commander

Commander: Liesa, Shroud of Dusk

Bracket: 3

DeckCheck Threat Index: 39

Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages Liesa, Shroud of Dusk to conduct an aggressive lifegain and attrition strategy. By taxing every spell cast at the table for 2 life while generating substantial life through lifelink and soul-warden effects, the deck breaks parity on resource trades. Early turns establish mana rocks and incremental lifegain triggers. By Turn 4, Liesa enters the battlefield to begin aerial combat and enforce her global spell tax. Midgame turns layer asymmetric drain effects like Polluted Bonds and Sanguine Bond, alongside token production from Angelic Accord and Resplendent Angel. The deck bypasses commander tax by spending life, allowing Liesa to return quickly after board wipes. Opponents find their life totals depleted through passive casting penalties and unblockable flyers, leading to a definitive Turn 8 combat and drain finish.
