Deck overview

This Edgar Markov deck executes a classic tribal swarm and aristocrats strategy within the Mardu color identity. By leveraging Edgar's eminence ability from the command zone, every low-cost Vampire cast automatically generates an additional 1/1 token without requiring commander deployment. The deck curves aggressively through turns 1 to 3 with efficient creatures such as Knight of the Ebon Legion, Cordial Vampire, and Stromkirk Captain. By turn 4, it establishes a wide board of six or more creatures. On turn 5, power multipliers like Shared Animosity, Edgar Markov, or Malakir Bloodwitch initiate a lethal combat clock, while aristocrat payoffs like Blood Artist and Cruel Celebrant convert creature trades into direct table drain. While the list excels at rapid board development and possesses strong targeted creature removal, its reliance on tap-lands and lack of wide-board phase protection leaves it vulnerable to well-timed sweepers.
