Deck overview

This Mono-Black deck executes an aggressive Voltron and Infect strategy led by Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon. The deck leverages efficient two-mana acceleration and rituals to deploy Skithiryx on Turn 5 with haste and regeneration up. It magnifies combat damage using Swamp-scaling equipment like Lashwrithe, Nightmare Lash, and Blackblade Reforged to eliminate opponents in one or two hits with 10 poison counters. A redundant suite of low-cost infect creatures such as Plague Stinger and Phyrexian Crusader provides early pressure, while proliferate cards including Contagion Engine, Contagion Clasp, and Karn's Bastion offer reach to finish poisoned opponents without requiring further combat contact. The deck features strong creature removal and one-sided sweepers like Crux of Fate, but suffers from classic Mono-Black coverage gaps against artifacts and stack-based combos, alongside the inherent multiplayer friction of eliminating three separate players via single-target combat attacks.
