Deck overview

This deck is a classic Azorius pillowfort control strategy built around the 8-mana commander Absolute Virtue. The game plan focuses on surviving the early turns by developing mana through on-curve artifacts and establishing defensive barriers such as Ghostly Prison and Propaganda. A rich suite of counterspells, targeted exile removal, and board sweepers controls opposing threats while keeping the board clear. On Turn 6, the deck resolves Absolute Virtue, which cannot be countered and grants the pilot complete protection from all opponents. Once deployed, the commander closes out the game through 8-power aerial combat damage while supported by protection pieces like Vexilus Praetor and Bastion Protector. Alternative late-game threats like Avacyn, Angel of Hope and Herald of Eternal Dawn provide backup win conditions if the commander is neutralized.
