Deck overview

This Izzet deck is built around Speedball, New Warrior, leveraging his unique ability to grow larger whenever he is targeted while redirecting opposing targeted spells. The game plan focuses on casting efficient one-mana cantrips and combat tricks that grant evasion, trample, and double strike. Each spell cast simultaneously pumps Speedball and replaces itself in hand, triggering spell-damage pingers like Guttersnipe and Firebrand Archer to wear down opponents. By Turn 5, Speedball can push through lethal commander damage against the most threatening opponent and then eliminate the remaining players in subsequent turns. While the commander naturally discourages targeted removal, the deck relies on stack interaction to defend against board sweepers.
