Burn After Reading 🏳️‍🌈 🏴‍☠️ 🏳️‍🌈 by user8425505

Format: Commander

Commander: Mary Read and Anne Bonny

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Mary Read and Anne Bonny lead a tempo-combo Pirate/artifact deck that turns looting into Treasures, card flow, and direct damage. The primary plan is to deploy cheap Pirates and Vehicles, attack to trigger draw-discard effects, and convert every discard into Treasure tokens, +1/+1 counters, or pings. Secondary paths are artifact-based alternate wins via Mechanized Production or Hellkite Tyrant, plus a big X-spell finish fueled by Treasures. The commander is the main engine: haste lets her loot immediately, and discarding an Island, Pirate, or Vehicle makes a tapped Treasure. The deck also has a hidden commander in Malcolm, Alluring Scoundrel, who provides flash, flying, repeatable looting, and eventually free spell casting. The deck is built to use Mary Read as a value engine rather than a dedicated combo piece, with Malcolm as a secondary engine that can take over if Mary is answered.
