Deck overview

This mono-black competitive list leverages Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER as both a card advantage engine and a lethal combo outlet in the command zone. Supported by a dense suite of positive fast mana and premier black tutors, the deck reliably deploys Sephiroth on turn 2 and initiates an infinite sacrifice loop on turn 3 using Forsaken Miner paired with Phyrexian Altar or Warren Soultrader. Because Sephiroth's death trigger targets an opponent, each iteration commits a crime, recurring Forsaken Miner for {B} and draining the table to zero life in a single turn. Powerful secondary card engines like Ad Nauseam, Bolas's Citadel, Necropotence, and The One Ring ensure rapid assembly and strong resilience. Proactive disruption cards such as Opposition Agent, Mornsong Aria, and Braids, Cabal Minion suppress opposing strategies, while Defense Grid and Imp's Mischief protect combo windows.
