Hapatra CEDH by user6220278

Format: Commander

Commander: Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a blisteringly fast Golgari combo deck built around Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and the -1/-1 counter mechanic. The primary game plan is to deploy Hapatra early, generate a critical mass of Snake tokens, then assemble the Yawgmoth, Thran Physician + Hapatra (or Nest of Scarabs/Flourishing Defenses) loop to draw the entire deck and drain the table with Zulaport Cutthroat, Marionette Apprentice, Mirkwood Bats, or Obelisk Spider. The deck leverages an absurd density of fast mana (Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Chrome Mox, Mox Diamond, Lotus Petal) and a premium tutor suite to consistently find its combo pieces by turn 3-4. Secondary wins come from Finale of Devastation pumping a wide board or Massacre Girl, Known Killer turning every creature into a -1/-1 counter bomb. The deck is a lean, mean, counter-spreading machine that punishes any opponent who taps out.
