Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control strategy designed to punish opposing game actions, particularly library searches and card drawing. Helmed by Ob Nixilis, Unshackled, the deck accelerates into large mana pools using Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and traditional black mana doublers. Once mana is online, it establishes oppressive asymmetric stax engines. Combinations like Ob Nixilis or Opposition Agent alongside Maralen of the Mornsong or Mornsong Aria strip opponents of card selection while dealing severe life loss. High-impact Demons such as Archfiend of Depravity and Archfiend of Despair manage opposing boards and double incoming damage. Supported by a deep suite of spot removal, edicts, and reanimation, the deck transitions from early disruption into an inevitable mid-game clock, closing out the table through steady combat pressure and devastating passive drain triggers.
