Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis Midrange Reanimator deck helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The strategy focuses on accelerating into an early Sauron deployment, leveraging his built-in Ward and passive Army generation to dominate the battlefield. By connecting with Orc Armies and Ring-bearers, Sauron repeatedly discards depleted hands to draw four fresh cards, rapidly digging through the library and stocking the graveyard with lethal threats. The deck features nine copies of Nazgûl, which scale power across the board whenever the Ring tempts you. A potent reanimation suite (Reanimate, Animate Dead, Living Death, Rise of the Dark Realms) cheats massive payoffs like Terror of the Peaks, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Razaketh, the Foulblooded into play. Backed by a dense, low-cost countermagic suite, the deck controls opposing threats while steadily overwhelming the table through combat damage and asymmetric attrition.
