Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure aristocrats and burn strategy helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan revolves around generating a massive stockpile of Treasure tokens to accelerate mana, trigger continuous card draw from the command zone, and burn opponents out with lethal life-drain triggers. In the early game, cheap ramp spells and utility creatures establish a baseline economy. By Turn 4, deploying Smaug, Wicked Worm turns every subsequent spell cast with Treasure mana into a card-drawing engine. Once the card advantage engine is online, the deck digs into potent burn payoffs such as Mirkwood Bats, Ingenious Artillerist, Reckless Fireweaver, and Mayhem Devil. These cards convert explosive token creation spells like Brass's Bounty and Blood Money into table-wide lethal damage. Alternatively, alternate win conditions such as Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant punish opponents who fail to clear your artifact hoard.
