Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Villain typal midrange strategy helmed by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost Villain creatures on early turns, casting the commander on turn 4, and utilizing the combat-step connive trigger to grow attackers with +1/+1 counters while sifting through the library. Discarding land cards during connive triggers symmetric life drain across all opponents, applying continuous passive burn. The deck accelerates board presence through token generators such as Madame Hydra and Ultron, Unlimited, before closing games with massive typal anthems like The Squadron Sinister and Doctor Octopus, Master Planner, or mass reanimation via Bloodline Bidding. While the list features versatile spot removal and efficient board wipes, it lacks stack-based countermagic and dedicated protection spells, making it vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers. Nevertheless, redundant Villain threats, mayhem casting, and grave recursion provide steady mid-game recovery and consistent pressure.
