Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Villain tribal and discard-midrange engine commanded by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria. The strategy focuses on establishing early Villain creatures, casting the commander on Turn 4, and utilizing the free combat-step connive trigger to grow attackers while cycling through the library. Discarding land cards steadily drains opponent life totals, while nonland discards place +1/+1 counters on key threats and fuel graveyard mechanics like mayhem and mass reanimation. In the mid-game, high-impact payoffs such as The Squadron Sinister, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Living Laser turn card filtering into overwhelming board presence, one-sided creature suppression, and sudden combat damage. Supported by versatile removal and efficient reanimation spells like Behold the Sinister Six!, the deck grinds down opposing life totals and closes the game across several aggressive combat turns.
