marchesa by ulisedi2

Format: Commander

Commander: Marchesa, the Black Rose

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Marchesa, the Black Rose is the engine of a Grixis value-combo deck. The primary plan is to put +1/+1 counters on creatures, sacrifice them for value, and let Marchesa return them at the next end step. The secondary path is graveyard reanimation: Entomb, Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Living Death cheat combo pieces into play. The deck wins through persist loops: Thran Vigil plus Murderous Redcap or Puppeteer Clique plus a sacrifice outlet creates infinite damage or mill, and Mikaeus plus Redcap is a second infinite line. There is no hidden commander; Marchesa is the build-around, while Thran Vigil and Mikaeus are the key enablers.
