Deck overview

This Boros aggro deck uses Commander Mustard to lead a dedicated Soldier tribal strategy focused on wide token generation and combat pressure. Early turns establish a board presence using low-cost Soldier creatures and recurring token engines such as Skyknight Vanguard, Baird, Argivian Recruiter, and SOLDIER Military Program. Once Commander Mustard enters on Turn 5, your entire Soldier army immediately gains haste, trample, and vigilance. This enables aggressive, low-risk combat steps while keeping blockers available on defense. The deck scales its damage output on Turn 6 through mass anthems, damage triggers, and extra combat phases, utilizing cards like Shared Animosity, Cathars' Crusade, Warleader's Call, and Aurelia, the Warleader. Supporting protection spells like Boros Charm, Flawless Maneuver, and Unbreakable Formation guard your board against destructive sweepers. While the list lacks stack interaction, dedicated tutors, and explosive fast mana, its dense redundant threats and haste-enabled token swarms reliably overwhelm opposing life totals by Turn 8.
