Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Mono-Black Reanimator strategy commanded by Songbird, Sonic Screamer. Songbird functions as a reliable, zero-mana discard outlet directly from the command zone, allowing you to bypass typical setup friction. By casting Songbird on Turn 2, you can immediately discard massive game-ending creatures such as Archon of Cruelty, Vilis, Broker of Blood, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, or Valgavoth, Terror Eater and reanimate them on Turn 3 using cheap reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, or Exhume. Once on the battlefield, these threats overwhelm opponents through asymmetric resource destruction, massive card draw, and heavy flying combat damage. Synergies like Archfiend of Ifnir turn Songbird into an instant-speed board wiper, while cards like The Darkness Crystal and Bone Miser convert discard and creature death into overwhelming board presence. While light on stack countermagic, extreme redundancy ensures rapid recovery and consistent early pressure.
