Deck overview

This monoblack aristocrats and reanimator deck uses fast mana, sacrifice outlets, and life-draining payoffs to drain the table. While Avacyn, Angel of Horror offers high-end board recursion in the command zone, the 99 functions as a self-sufficient engine. Acceleration from Dark Ritual, Sol Ring, and Cabal Coffers enables early deployment of powerhouse draw engines like Necropotence, Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, and Bolas's Citadel. The deck controls opposing boards through efficient creature removal, edicts, and board wipes like Toxic Deluge. It closes games decisively around Turn 5 using infinite drain loops with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Walking Ballista, massive Living Death swings, or repeated triggers from Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Kokusho, the Evening Star.
