Deck overview

This deck combines low-cost unblockable attackers with high-toughness defender creatures to mount an evasive combat plan under Vela the Night-Clad. Early turns focus on deploying 1-drop and 2-drop evasive threats like Slither Blade and Mist-Cloaked Herald, using walls like Fog Bank and Wall of Frost to deter opposing attacks. Mana artifacts help ramp toward Vela the Night-Clad, which grants intimidate to your entire team and drains 1 life from each opponent whenever your creatures leave the battlefield. Support cards like Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive ensure your low-power creatures bypass blockers, while Walking Bulwark allows your defensive walls to attack with their toughness. The deck relies on incremental combat damage and high-cost spells like Sway of the Stars to close games. A low land count of 29 lands and an absence of burst card draw make the deck play at a relaxed pace vulnerable to board wipes.
