Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Zombie tribal strategy led by Varina, Lich Queen. It blends wide aggressive attacks with resilient aristocrat burn. In the early game, the deck deploys low-cost Zombie threats and mana fixers before casting Varina on Turn 4. Once Varina attacks on Turn 5, her ability loots deep into the library, fills the graveyard, and creates tokens to rapidly grow the undead army. The mid game focuses on stacking anthem lords like Lord of the Accursed, granting evasion with Eternal Skylord or On Wings of Gold, and punishing board interaction with drain triggers from Corpse Knight, Diregraf Captain, and Wayward Servant. Strong removal spells like Void Rend and Anguished Unmaking answer critical opposing threats. Mass reanimation spells such as Zombie Apocalypse provide explosive recovery against sweepers. The deck steadily overwhelms the table, closing out the game around Turn 8 through unblockable combat damage and unavoidable aristocrat life loss.
