Sheoldred Infecting Phyrexian by Buddadragon

Format: Commander

Commander: Sheoldred, the Apocalypse

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black "Group Pain" and Infect strategy helmed by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The primary game plan is to weaponize card draw, forcing opponents to draw cards through symmetrical effects like Teferi's Puzzle Box, Temple Bell, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth, which triggers Sheoldred to drain their life totals rapidly. Simultaneously, the deck utilizes a dense Infect/Toxic package to provide an alternative win condition. By applying initial poison counters through creatures like Ichor Rats or Phyrexian Crusader, the deck can then hide behind a control shell and use Proliferate engines (Contagion Engine, Staff of Compleation) to tick opponents up to ten. Sheoldred acts as both a massive life-gain engine to offset the deck's "life as a resource" cards and a primary win condition when paired with wheels or forced-draw artifacts.
