Aphelia by ALNP

Format: Commander

Commander: Aphelia, Viper Whisperer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari deck helmed by Aphelia, Viper Whisperer is a deathtouch tribal strategy that leverages the commander's attack trigger to generate 1/1 Snake tokens and her activated ability to halve opponents' life totals when Snakes or Gorgons connect. The primary win condition is combat damage amplified by life-loss doublers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz and Wound Reflection, with a secondary poison kill via Fynn, the Fangbearer and Triumph of the Hordes. The deck controls the board through deathtouch creatures and edict effects, then finishes with a single overwhelming turn. It is a midrange value deck that relies on incremental advantage and a critical mass of deathtouch bodies.
