Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and Otter-tribal burn strategy led by Alania, Divergent Storm. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost burn creatures like Coruscation Mage and Firebrand Archer, then casting Alania to duplicate the first instant, sorcery, and Otter spell cast each turn. This duplication rapidly fuels hand size through draw spells and doubles the impact of removal and burn. In the mid-to-late game, the deck leverages storm engines like Storm-Kiln Artist and Thousand-Year Storm or teamwide prowess buffs from Bria, Riptide Rogue and Balmor, Battlemage Captain to close out games. While lacking infinite combos or stax pieces, the deck maintains high card velocity and resilient spell-based interaction to grind down opponents.
