Deck overview

This Abzan Halfling deck builds a Food and artifact-token engine around Pippin and Merry. Pippin creates Food and can sacrifice four Foods to give your other creatures +3/+3 and haste, while Merry creates a 1/1 lifelinking Soldier once per turn when an artifact enters. You grind value with Food makers like Peregrin Took, Sam, Loyal Attendant, and Elanor Gardner, double rewards with Parallel Lives, Primal Vigor, and Academy Manufactor, and turn life gain into cards. You win by draining with Mirkwood Bats effects, by looping Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond, or by going infinite with Basking Broodscale and Rosie Cotton of South Lane, who acts as the hidden commander for the combo. Bolas's Citadel provides late-game card advantage by playing from the top of your library.
